Less than 2 weeks to the shortest day. So, let's play trains.
Last summers planting of ferns on the Balloon Loop are showing good signs of growth as new No.1 comes through on the Goods

The driver has hopped out to set the points.

Meantime, old No.1 is at the Log loading siding.

Of course, no Wellington day is complete without an appearance by Johnny.

Day was organised at late notice due to the arranged host suffering a family berevement. Our thoughts are with Dave and Wendy Allen, on the loss of Wendy's father.

Thanks for the afternoon Gavin, might have been a rather small turnout but we still enjoyed ourselves didn't we.
Okay onto my pictures from the day.
First up view of the original loop looking over the new junction and down the mainline.

Lovely atmosphere. I like the idea of planting ferns (Silver?) and might just use that one on the BoB.

Attractive trains in a beautiful setting

I too love the Feldbahn stock - LGB could do a lot worse than fully re-introduce that range.

Nice.
Easy on the train length for the little O & K though......drive belt spares are rare !
I use oil to keep the track and wheels clean.... locos will wheelspin if load is too great, thus lessening the risk of gear failures.
