OK guys (and gals) what's going on .....
I seem to keep getting bra adverts popping up when browsing the forum.

Now these adverts are supposed to be based on algorithms based on your interests and needs. I promise you, I have not been searching for dodgy images - nor have I been browsing through lingerie sites.

Maybe they've worked out my age, height and weight and are trying to tell me something about my moobs?

Rik

I dunno, I don't even look at half of them.

Personally, I think the sales aspect of the tech industries is so warped and dimwitted, that they don't know what they're doing, and couldn't write a useful algorithm to save their lives.

You've never had to erudite to be in sales.

You should worry, I have had adverts for a new wife from the far East. SWMBO would not be impressed if she found out.

You think bras is bad, I get my pension next year, don't think I qualify as a teen

Think yourselves lucky!

All I seem to have got recently, is Ads. for Financial Advisors, and Funeral Plans! :(:(
Perhaps, they have hacked the results of my hospital tests?? :rofl:

You can rest your case when you tell us what your ads say! :-)
Personally I paid for the no-ad feature.

Since I started using my Raspberry Pi as a desktop with Chromium as my browser and DuckDuckGo as my search engine (it came as the default and I have since found out that it does not track my searches) I don't get any ads,
Now my Win 10 machine that SWMBO uses for BookFace is a whole totally different matter (Asian Wives, Lonely Girls, and Home Improvements etc) maybe the algorithm writers consider a Linux based OS not worth the effort.

I suspect that DuckDuckGo is in the same league as CoverMyA***e which are those designed to not leave a search trail :mask::mask::mask:

I just looked at mine and it was for a ‘Modest Fasion Sale’ now anyone that knows me will tell younthat ‘Fasionable’ is the last thing that I am or even remotely interested in. Well except perhaps for the fasionable trend to batteryize my trains.

To my knowledge, I've never visited their website. I did order a dress for my wife about three months ago, but that was a completely different website and I only went on there once.

I once ordered a pair of trousers - men's, for me - by mail order.

Three months later I had a letter from a women's mail order catalogue company, presumably an associated company, saying, '..............as you have ordered from us before.................'

At that time, I was working at establishments where security was an issue, and security clearances varies in their processes, so I extracted a written apology which I kept for quite a while: well, you never know :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:
