When installing lighting in G-scale passenger cars, it is nice (but a bit costly) to use ball-bearing wheels with power pickups to reduce rolling resistance and avoid wires between cars. The PIKO wheels are a nice alternative to the LGB variety. They have both screws for eyelet connection and pins for slide-on connectors. However, I find that the pins are too thin for a snug connection with the LGB or Massoth standard slide-on connectors (see first photo). I have discovered that the LGB 3030 plug and socket connectors make a nice alternative (I had quite a few of these lying around). In particular, the socket half of the connector can be disassembled and the plastic casing discarded. Wires can then be soldered into the socket end of the connector ( being careful to keep the wire and solder to only about 1/3 of the connector depth). Then the connectors can be slid over the pins of the wheel set and locked tightly with the attached screw - making a rather tidy looking job. See the photos below.....
