Obviously something had to go and fortunately the higher planning approval officer agreed to it being the bamboo. After plenty of blood, sweat, tears and tea, it was gone. We left it a while but there was no return so plans were made to recover the right of way and now we're at this stage.

As things progress I'll post more pictures.

Great looking trestles can't wait to see the finished bridge

I agree the trestles look great. I cant wait to see more pictures of your progress. looks like its going to be a good size layout with a lot of options. Good stuff so far.
I like the overgrown look with the bamboo tree growing through the tracks. Im doing that with one of my sidings, letting nature take over.

A little progress today.

I have also cut and preserved most of the stringers to go between the bents but still have the top runners to cut. With the evenings getting lighter here I might be able to do some in the evenings this week.

Well, with work and other stuff (including a visit to UK) nothing has happened till today. However, the gang were out in the blazing sun to make good progress.

Once the track crew were back at the depot, everyone awaited the departure of the Yobbit with the 1st official passenger train.

It's taken a while but I think it was worth the wait. Next step is to extend somewhere.:)

I didn't realise how long it's been since the line was re-opened. The extensions have not gone far but things are starting to move slowly again. Meanwhile there was a good running session last weekend. 1 of the extensions needed ballast moved in from other areas.
