The L&I Railroad...A new beginning.

Years ago when I built my 1st outdoor railroad it was a complete disaster. Had no clue of what I was doing, and worse folly, no intent to ask for help! In my defense, I knew of no one who was modeling outdoors nor did I know of any on-line forums. I am posting this to show that not all railroaders stateside have acres of land, and to show if I can do it anyone can! ;)

I built an indoor railway and ran it for many years until we moved into our new home two years ago and that's when I decided to try again. A quick look at the L&I (Leahville and Iansburg), before and now...

In "moved in" condition:

Progress:
First we ripped out the old boulder retaining wall that really didn't "retain" anything...

Then we replaced it with a block wall...

We re-used many of the "boulders" for landscape...
The "ground cover consists of crushed granite compacted 4 to 6 inches deep...Tunnel and pond construction:

That's a massive improvement on what was there previously an imaginative use of the available space too , nice to see the youngsters enjoying your line too,
