The Greystone and Snailsworth.

Brilliant. I really enjoyed the trip

Any chance that you are a bit of a railway memorabilia collector? Just wondered...

Very interesting line - how about a "lineside view" next?

Thanks,
Mick

PS - that banner Distant must've been quite rare?

I was looking at that as well. Cant be too many of those around!

my that was too much fun-not only a long run-smooth too-but interesting countryside and industrial ares-thanks i really enjoyed that

what equipment was being run ?

The railway was built for the kids (honestly) so the stock is mainly toytrain LGB. There is nothing too big, everything is 0 4 0 wheel arrangement. Otto, Stainz, LGB Dcc starter set locomotives etc.

The banner distant is quite rare. There are a few other not so common items too including a mechanical searchlight ( i had mine before the one at Quorn, Great Central, though i did donate some of the parts for that signal) an LNER searchlight with two heads, the three headed colourlight already mentioned, and 110 dc solenoid lower quadrant shunt signal (and my life's ambition to not meet the back emf from it) to name but a few..

Ill probably end up with a back yard similar to be honest. Already got a few nameplates, builders plates, EE leasing plates etc. Couple of signal arms, and ive just bought myself a 2 aspect GPL off ebay. That reminds me I must go collect that!

Excellant - hope Network Rail doesn't realise it's short of a few items!

Great run....

I might one day find the motivation to get the other third of the line back into use. There is a lift out bridge that is locked in place with an Annett's lock. Once the bridge is locked in place the key can be withdrawn and placed in another Annett's lock with detection switches to liven up the approach lines. The bridge is kept under care and maintenance but the line beyond hasn't had a train for a while and is in fact incomplete. There are plans for a terminus but 12 inch to the foot jobs are taking priority at the moment.

While watching your excellent vid, I've just realised! Doh! I'm so used to OO or Z that it had never hit me that you can tape a standard mini camcorder to a G scale train and you can film the layout from a driver's perspective.

Mind you, my vid will be 8 seconds, unlike your 8 minutes. :rolf:
