I've done it, How i've No Idea How, I've Hit 50

Yes 50

I know own 50 of them

Yes 50 Stainz Locos

Do you retire when you get to 60 or has it gone up to 65 now??????

Well done for hitting that milestone, Sparky! What's the next target, 100....? ;)

Out of interest, do you (or anyone else on here) actually know how many different Stainz variants there are out there in total?

Jon.

I Know 44 of my Stainz are different versions or special editions

By different versions I mean different production versions ie I have 6 versions of a Brown No 1 Stainz

6 of mine are duplicates Painted up and Named as the Real Versions

I do not know of a definite List, I have one that is not in Greenburgs or the Lok book but does appear on the GHB list

Ah, the big five ohhhh. Can't see dick.......litterally. Not to worry, however. It's all up hill till 60, then it's a slippery slope in one direction. [e]180[/e]

Herself was talking to another wife on Sunday The lady was complaining her husband had 10 loco's which she thought was excessive. I guess some folk just don't make an effort with their hobby.

Ian, thanks for the info on the smoke unit the other day..
Whilst posting pictures.. Do you have one of the inside of a (recent-ish) one please? - The one I was dealing with, I put a new smoke unit in, and still nothing..

Turns out the loco will run on analogue, but not on a DCC system (address 0).. Stick 12V on the skates, engine runs, but only just over a volt on the smoke unit power-pins.. Looks like the internal electronics are 'smoked'.
After an idea of how much electronics are in it, and how easy to replace/repair/bypass it will be.
TIA,
PhilP.

I dont have any newish Stainz, All mine range from originals to mid 90's

Paul the other Stainz nutter is more up on newish ones

Together!

Now, those 'odd' things that stick in the mind. - Except mine is getting old, so I forget the exact origin..
There was the single word "together!" as an exclamation in a ?film? ?tv show (possibly Monty Python, rings a bell)? where it is uttered by a ?series? of people, one after the other..
This is going to bug me now!! ::) :-[ ;)

"All together now". Yes, Monty Python. I have the tune in my head but I'll get the hook if I sing it here ::)

Think I'd get into trouble with my fav bit of python, I'll leave the title blank

That's me :D

I do have a few from 1968 and 1972 but most are post 1994 with D gearboxes.
Much easier to make DCC with sound and standing smoke and lights.
You stepped up to the "nutter" mark pretty quick there Paul. :D :D :D
Will you be at St Alban's tomorrow?

Nutter, zealot whatever. I like to do what I like with passion Keith so no problem with it.

As I understand it, if it was possible to buy every Stainz variant ever made including all the different colours you would have over 200 locos.......

So there you go, Sparky - only another 150 or so to find..... ;) :o :-\ :D
