The Benbril Flyer

Hi folks
I rarely (if ever) film battery railcars, but while filming at David Turner's Dingle leigh Railway, I rather fell in love with this one. Built by Ron Abbott, it was given the magic touch by Rob Bennett.
I would suggest watching full screen and in HD to get the full effect of the railway and the "Benbril Flyer"!

Great filming Chris, and a superbly atmospheric railway.

I have watched it 3 times already, as there is so much to see !

Ron Grant built this railcar with a very large and powerful motor (from a reel to reel tape recorder I think). I have the same motor in a Ron Grant Kerr Stuart diesel and at about 6kg, it will pull a medium sized building:)

What a fantastic little railcar ! It even sounds good, he is a lucky man , to own such a vehicle.
 
superb, fun, momentary suspension of disbelief
love the opening sounds of bridsong

details and angle of photos simply make it come to life
great figures too
even without motor 'sound' from the Flyer, or lights ,etc

i would like to know just how large this RWY is
and the track plan -
seems like an entire small world-just the thing we are all about, or strive to be

seeing it haul so many coaches doesnt seem to work for me
