The Beast arrives

In today‘s post came the beast! It’s a well worn Aristocraft Pseudo ALCo 4 wheel critter/switcher of dubious parentage. I know there is no prototype for it, which is a pity as it’s a very imposing model of a RS series nose and rear on a 4 wheel chassis. It‘s off to the works with it for storage as there are a lot of other items to ahead of it in the queue for attention.
The big question is, do I leave the paintwork alone, cosmetically applying handrails etc, or do I give it a full repaint?
The Matt and faded green looks nice and it could be seen as a very faded and work worn blue. Hmm…decisions, decisions.

I quite like the colour (color)..

How about a few rust holes, and streaks?
Possibly a patch repair, given a rough coat of fresh blue, and a few patches of oil, where work has been done to keep the old girl going?

MMm, while the colour looks suitably care-worn, some of the detailed painting needs a bit of tidying up. You might not be able to match the dull green, so the care-worn look might have to go a bit blotchy - not uncommon in the 1:1 world ;)

Yes, I like the colour too.
