Hi all.

Its been a little wet here of late so the track laying and gardening team have been at a loose end.

I told them to get on with fitting that Cliff Barker system to the taurus that has been sat there for a month. Their union flatly refused to install high tech electronics to a shabbily painted loco and demeanded it be repainted to something they recognised.
The unions got involved and I rolled over and let them get their way. (the last thing we need is a strike if the sunshine comes back out.)

so I left the gang to it, the workshop supervisor is a lover of the UK Class 89 locomotive, (seen here: http://www.therailwaycentre.com/Pages Loco/Recognition loco/Illus_89.html ) and he loosely based his livery on this- when it was in swallow colours. He still insists in calling it a baby Avocet, and has requested name plates which are yet to be budgeted for.

I hope you all like what has been done. I know rivet counters will turn their back on my workforce, but they do like to put their stamp on things. Its a good security mechanism, no one in their right mind would steal it!.

Sorry about the poor light I had to wait for the rain to stop before I could take the phots and by then darkness was seting in.

Way prettier than the class 89 you iterate, the repaint is absolutely spot on - well done Dave.
If photographed on rails in the right light I suspect only the center buffer would be the giveaway between this and a real loco. Be proud

I think it's brilliant. How about a depot open day, or at least piccys of a line up of your unique collection of locos :D

thanks for the nice comments folks.

Pugwash: I hope to find the standard buffers, I seem to have lost them hence the single buffer for now.

Netty: When the weather gets better. I was thinking of either an open day, or a photoshoot of all of my random paint jobs.

Cogges (Ian): I will be honest. I trawl fox transfers and find the nearest compatible scale usually. Some things like BR signs and warning signs are standard gauge one, the intercity is actually classed as O Gauge. I did not mind, not like I was going for exact replica.

Hope to take some photos with the NQD coaches I painted a bit later.

Hi All.

It was a nice day today so was out in the garden. Here are a few photos of my newly repainted taurus with my newly repainted NQD coaches.

They are staged photos as I have still not got around to fitting my Cliff Barker system. Hopefully this week.

Any how enjoy the photos hopefully she'll be running in the garden by next weekend.
