Strasburg RR

Shawn

Hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing
This week I took the family out to Lancaster PA to get away from all the rain we have been getting in NW Jersey. We decided last minute (Monday mid morning) to take a trip. We packed our stuff and three hours later arrived in Lancaster. Tuesday we headed to Strasburg for a fun filled day of trains. We started the day by riding the RR through Lancaster area. Then we hit the train museum. For lunch we hit the Caboose motel where we ate in the passenger car. While we ate we got to watch the G scale train running inside the gift shop. AFter lunch we hit the gift shop, thats where I found a Kalamazoo box car for a good deal. Of course I bought it since they are identical to the HLW stuff. Then it was off to the choo choo barn where we toured the layout (I have always loved this layout) Then we hit the train store upstairs. Again I got a great deal on a Kalamazoo Valley Forge car $21. Another good deal. By the time we got done we hit the hotel for a swim and recoop. Then we went for dinner and shopped at the Rockvale outlets (have to do something the wife likes LOL) While their I hit the train shop at the outlets. The store had a great selection of trains and the best book collection. He has almost every book on trains or so it seems. The store was a bit high in price, really wanted to buy something but I could not see spending the amount that he was asking for. The last day we hit Dutch Wonderland and visited some friends.
