This is the first model of this loco. The original is DC only with single motor, directional and cab lights, and a smoke generator.
I have fitted a Massoth LS sound decoder, 57mm 8 ohm 2W speaker, Massoth volume control (potentiometer) and Massoth flickering firebox light. I removed the standard LGB figure but it will be included if desired.
I have made some minor cosmetic changes to the loco. I have replaced the gold lamp rings with black ones, painted the bell, whistle, and cab steps black, all as per the prototype.
The model is in very good condition as is the box. Although it has no “skates” all 8 wheels act as pickups so there are no problems creeping over R1 points. It is a good runner (but see below) and very weighty so with 8 powered wheels it should be able to pull quite a load. The smoke generator is very good for a basic non-pulsed unit.
Although I love this loco it does not handle R1 curves very well due to the 4 axle motor block, and my indoor layout is all R1. It runs but it takes some volts to start on an R1 curve. DCC back EMF handles this but it delays the start somewhat and the wheels do grind a bit on these sharp curves. On LGB R2 (PIKO R3) curves there is no problem. But this is why I am selling it, with regret. I love the chunky appearance, but I have no room for a “shelf queen” in my collection. :-(
You can read about my upgrade to the basic model here:

Very short video clip here:
I am asking £450 plus £10 P&P to UK address. If you would rather fit your own decoder I can remove the Massoth LS and we can discuss a reduced price. Pictures below.
