When we were travelling up to the Norfolk Broads last week, we decided to call in at SPM as it is next to the A11 and Race Track.

We found that the shop was closed. A chap came and told us that the owner died at Christmas and the shop was being cleared out.

For those who have never heard of SPM, it was billed as the 'Largest Toyshop in the World'.

It had stocks of LGB and PIKO and a large LGB display model. Quite expensive though and most of its trade probably came from the Americans from the RAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath bases.

Anyhow, just to let anyone know in case they were thinking of visiting....

That is a shame as, although a tad over priced, they also did some good prices on special ranges.
It was also good to saunter around the vast collection of products laid out like a wrecking bred wonderland effect.

I popped in only once despite driving by many times. It was good to see the huge range of items and spent some time wandering round but I didn't buy anything as I seem to have an aversion to buying new and they didn't have anything second hand.
