Smartphone & forum layout

I use the forum often on my smartphone. Would it be possible to have 'new posts' as first menu item in stead of 'forums you ignore'?

New Posts is hidden in the menu. And I don't ignore forums.

Also, in landscape mode (while viewing photos) a large part of the screen is covered by the gray title area...

I agree - seems odd that the easiest things to get to are those you ignore! ;-)

I can see there's really no way around the "banner" with the menu items", it takes a fair amount of space to be sure.

You might want to get a higher resolution smart phone if you are trying to basically use it as a computer. My Samsung shows significantly more than your pictures above. I have a Note 5.

Or, why not just buy a cheap 10" tablet... They are about $60 here on sale for a quad core Android tablet.

Have to say the only time I would use my iPhone to get into the Forum would be a case of desparation. Use my iPad all the time, hardly even turn the PC on these days, much less link it to the Net.

The iPads are taken by the kids. I only use my iPhone (SE, hence the 'small' screen) and MacBook. But I don't take the MacBook everywhere and then it's just handy to have a peek at the forum on the iPhone...

At the risk of irritating you Henri, clearly the iPhone is not really handy to peek at the forum. You must not be using the latest with the larger screen, but even then it's a pain.

My site has lots of menus and will work on a smart phone, but navigating all the menus is just too much to be useful except in case of emergency.

Maybe you can make a bookmark to take you to unread posts directly, like I have done.
