On 10th Dec I 'won' a s/h water tower from Shrewsbury Models. Their preferred method of payment was credit card. I rang them on the first available day and paid by card. They also took my phone number "just in case there were any problems".
Today I received a warning of failure to pay from Ebay instigated by SM and a threat of a record on my account. They have made no attempt to contact me by phone or email.:wits::wits::wits:
Normally I pay by Paypal but SM had rude remarks to make about paypal and its shipping insurance requirements and clearly do not wish to pay the insurance.
Has anyone experience of dealing with SM?
 
dont trust them.........i ave the same problem in the past..
 
Looks like one to avoid, perhaps ? I think I saw that water tower, and was tempted !

I won a Playmobil carriage, paid over the 'phone with my credit card and it arrived very quickly. Maybe it's just an error on their part.

BTW, that water tower will be available from Playmobil UK Direct Service in the new year.
 
I bought direct from their shop online - not through evilbay - a few years back.

All OK - and cheap :thumbup:
 
Have only got items from the shop as it's only a few miles away for me have never had items from e bay from them . They always seem to have alot of HO stock on e bay but not much G scale .
 
If they dont play ball, get your card company involved - similar protection to paypal.
 
The problem is resolved or will be when the tower arrives but it took two more calls at my expense today to get to the bottom of it.
Their reason was that 'someone' who took my first call walked off with the notebook!!!!!!?
Not terribly efficient to put it mildly and they blamed Ebay for issuing the 'failure to pay notice'. That is not what Ebay said when I contacted them.
The proof of the pud'n will be when it arrives, probably too late for Christmas for my grandson.

I hope it's not for less than I paid for it......:@ :impatient:
 
What's a bit concerning about this is that someone has walked off with the notebook containing all your credit card details. Doesn't say much about their security of personal details.

EDIT: The parcel has just arrived. Now to see if it is as described.
 
SMC have redeemed themselves somewhat.
The parcel was sent 'Express' last night and the tower is in v good condition ie as claimed.
Panic over but it ought not to have happened.
