Took a while to get some time out from Decorating and domestic chores but finally managed a snow run today - Here's a few pics.

First the plough was brought out overnight to clear the line.

Once the line was clear maintenance crews were out again today just check that all was still OK. The lines two old reliable Stainz loco's were once again pressed into service. The green one placed at the front as it still has snowploughs fitted to clear any remaining white stuff.

Although most of the heavy snowfall has been cleared, the crew still still keeps the main plough on hand (you may just make it out on the flat wagon).

So why all this activity when there are no passenger services and the platforms are still snowbound.

Well.................

The beer train has to get through.

Nicely done Gareth.
Trusty Stainz in action.

The far corner where the shrub is must be a pain with leaves and debris.....

Yes Paul it's a nightmare. The Hebe at ground level is fine cos it's evergreen but the honeysuckle up against the fence is a pain in the proverbial.

Well another snowfall last night meant that the plough was needed again today.

This time when the line was cleared the plough was left attached and parked up in one of the bay sidings.

Having successfully got brewery supplies through yesterday, the brewery donated some of its rolling stock to supply essential provisions to some of the isolated villages.

They also laid on some extra open wagons to continue the beer supply, (demand for beer always seems to increase when Shropshire folks get cut off).

Stanworth Village is completely isolated by road. (There's a crossing under there somwhere).

Staff work hard to clear the bay platform ready to unload the stock. (Well some work, some watch). They better hurry through cos the train's almost there.

With the line cleared the Brewery train sucessfully makes its way into Stanworth station. Now all they need to do is find someone to unload it.

Having somehow unloaded supplies for Stanworth the train continues on it's way past Stanworth box towards the village of Upper Dingle.

George the Signalman always manages to get to work. (Something to do with his mode of transport methinks).
