Seehafen Bahn

This is the identity my railway adopts when I run my European stuff. I imagine it's in a fictional country (Vulgaria , see I Flemings Chiity Chitty Bang Bang for a complete history) the line being 25 miles long and taking an hour to traverse. Seehafen is at one end Baumstadt is in the middle and the line ends at the border . There are several smaller villagers where the trains call.

Then later past the station

Nice but dim, I like the Red geared Stainz too , it cost me about £40 off ebay, I bought it to be the basis of a bash into something more British outlined , but I fell in love with it, so it stayed as it was.
Jimmelix, the raise areas are built out of the local sandstone, I got a mate who is a farmer and so able to build dry stone walls, although this is motared together in places. It seemed the best way to get the raised areas to blend in to the landscape so to speak. The prototype (or justification) being the Cromford & High Peak line. it looks good but is not the most cost effective method of construction:rolf:

Number 104 is usually rostered to take the "express" Mon to Saturday mornings, here she is coasting towards Unterhecke on her way to Seehafen

A super set of photos nicely catching the atmosphere of a local branchline. What's the ground plan of your line, please?

It is a wobbly sort of oval with a short passing loop, it goes from ground level at the house (Northern) end to a height of about 18 inch's at the bottom. The raised section is on a pseudo dry stone wall made out of the local stone. It was built to watch the trains go by rather than performing shunting or other such tasks. Scenery is deliberately kept to a minimum, a station and signalling.
I also run live steam.
I want a railway that reminds me of seeing trains running through the countryside like I did when I was a kid, this means trying to create scenery using plants. Sometimes I get this right, sometimes I have to dig things up and start again.
The situation is under review as I have agreed that the neighbours can replace the hedge behind the station with a fence so things will change for the better there I hope ;)
