This year, my Christmas Pressy, from Me to Me , should arrive a little early :-

https://www.ebay.de/itm/LGB-Maerkli...BgG%2FlVlixuWCMy20NIA%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

The loco, as advertised, is fully loaded with a Massoth XLS decoder etc.

My question, before Smoke and expensive damage, how to load to my Massoth system? I think I must set-up with the controller as is it is a new build but not program it ? Massoth manuals are not helpful in regards to second hand items ( or am I not reading the correct section :wondering:

Any help would be appreciated

Alex

I think a message to Muns might be the best (and cheapest) option. He is the Garden Rail Outlet with an advert on the right of the screen.

If you know the address the 'new' loco is set to, and how to select that loco on your Navigator, you should be good to go..

You may need to alter the speed-step setting on the Navigator for this loco. - If the lights go on/off as you change speed.

You may wish to alter the address this loco is set to.. That is quite easy with the Navigator.

Simples - you stick it on the track, select address 8 on your Massoth and it will work.
(The advert states it is on address 8)
If the lights are on and off - see Phils post above - change the speed step setting.
F7 for smoke. If there is no sound - F6
F8 will slow down everything for 'shunting mode'
Now you can set it in to your controller as a remembered loco. maybe this is actually what you were asking for all along. It is very useful but not necessary to just run the loco. I'll go get my Navigator and run through it for you..

Here we go.
Your loco is on the track and make sure nothing else is, or use the programming track.

Turn on the Navvy.
press M3
M1 to move down to 'Decod Progr'
M2 to OK
>Loco address
8 (or what ever address you want)
M2 to OK
>Speed step - start with '28'
M2 to OK
>Direction -> (Use M1 to reverse)
M2 to OK
>Analogue/Digital 'A' (Use A, this allows analogue and digital running. M1 to change to D which is digital only)
M2 to OK
M3 to save

That programs the loco

Now for the handset

Press and hold M2 until the screen changes (after a few seconds)
It reads 'speed steps', 28D is a good start, or maybe 14D. Dont use M, that is for an ancient system.
Use M2 to change
M3 to OK
It moves to 'Function'. Don't worry about the numbers, but the letter in the middle - you want P. (the alternative, S, is again ancient)
M3 to OK
it moves on to 'Picture'. Scroll through the available pictures using M1 and M2
Select with M3
'Name', choose a name, select the letter or number using M1 and M2, use the < and > keys to move on to the next letter
Save with M3

M2 to save. (M3 will hold the information for this operation session only and then it will revert to where it was)

Thats it. You probably wont even need to do the top half of all this.
What your doing is pretty bomb proof and your highly unlikely to damage anything - just make a note if you change the address.

Thank you Alan for confirming my understanding. I only need to tell the Navigator what it should be looking at/talking too.

I will use address 8 as the loco has a large 8 on the tank, and I do like simple :rofl:

I will post pictures and/ or further question once I get my hands on it.

Regards

Alex
