Cheers Steve. All my motive power - except the two Stainzes - has Massoth XL decoders fitted as standard. The blue Mallet also uses an LGB 55026 cable which links the decoder to the original main board and - in turn - to the sound board. Chuffs nicely!

Yes. It's reasonably sophisticated for its date of issue in terms of sound quality. Also, one of the rear bogie's axles seems to be fitted with an early version of Massoth's eMotion pulse generator, synchronising the chuffs to wheel rotation.
