Ruritanian Railways - 2012

After the extended New Year holiday, Ruritania is gradually returning to what passes for normality. As the construction industry takes an extended break around this time of year, demand for invisible ballast has been lower than usual. Mighty Mouse (Mk2) was captured passing Pootank Halt with a mere four hoppers in tow this afternoon.

The management, staff and small furry creatures of Ruritanian Railways wish you all
Happy New Year!

I still say you need more Mallets.
Hmmm. Aren't TrainLine producing one this year?

Mind you, Zenda depot's supervisor keeps looking at Corpet Louvet brochures....

Ballast flows are now back to normal in Ruritania. Indeed demand is booming: the keen-eyed will notice that there is now an extra (8th) hopper in service. Mighty Mouse (Mk2) will soon run round its train and return the loaded wagons to Zenda. We are grateful to a Ruritanian Air Force navigator for this view of the border station.

Nice view Peter - we don't often see that side of the border:thumbup:

Go on Peter - take the track across the bridge - you know you want to

Wouldn't that be crossing the border into another empire?

Could be construed as a declaration of war....

Indeed I do want to go over the bridge, but it is "streng verboten" by SWMBO : she can kill a man with a single lash of her tongue at 50 paces. :nail:

Ruritanian Railways recently asked renowned Italian design guru E. I. Addio to produce ideas for a "makeover" for the three Stainz type locomotives owned by RR. Zenda depot has now finished trial repaints based on Enrico's sketches. Comments from the international bon viveurs of GSC are invited:

Stainz "Katie", last repainted in 1998, before and after repainting:

Zenda depot's "pet" Stainz, unofficially known as "Kaiser Otto" after uncrowned head of Austria-Hungary Otto von Habsburg. Again, before or after? Perhaps with black wheels too in mourning for dear old Otto who died in 2011?

Finally a view of all three locomotive "somewhere in Ruritania"

:thumbup:In Yorkshire the equivelent name would be E E BY GUM.
I like his changes to the colour scheme

So which loco looks best with a black chassis and should Otto's wheels be blackened? 8|

I would say the Kaiser & leave his wheels red.

yes:bigsmile:
