I note that Roundhouse have released a freelance steam tram and an 0-4-0DM for 2018. The diesel looks just the job for the CFR.

Rather nice, though will be probably be a rubber ruler job so size wise and will pretty well match existing G Scale Trains. Quite likely representative of a 3’6” prototype. Though the similarity to this in Hull Museum is quite remarkable from the Portstewart Steam Tramway which was a 3” Gauge line. Though not too sure bout the sort of Cow Catchery thing at the bottom of the Roundhouse Loco will need to research this further. So you takes your choice etc regarding scale. But it will be a nice big lump for the price, if only they could develop their own fitted SloMo................

Or offer the SSP one factory fitted. Makes thier engines so much more realistic and docile at slow speeds, but still very powerful at the same time. The tram does fill a gap in ther line though, only the Billy is contenintal in styling, Trams were used all over the world, USA included. Harri told me in a recent email that prices on every model were going up on Jan 1 2018. So the prices do not supprise me at all. And the diesel is fully fitted with RC with onboard battery pack, charger and sound all included. So while its not cheap, its really a bargain once you add up the goodies! Mike the Aspie

Some had the deflector and some didn't. The scale of 16mm would put it at over 8 feet wide. My estimate is well over that - something like 1:14. It's nice, but too much money for me (as well has not fitting in with anything I've got. Need to put the condenser pipes on mine!

Will do a bit more research into my History of Steam Trams books to find a 4 side window Steam Tram with the deflector. RH will surely have used a specific prototype. Not surprised that much about the price hike, everything is going up something must be occuring in our little Island!

Condenser pipes? I thought, or hoped(?) That they were torpedo tubes:think::think:

Here is my Merseysider, purchased about 9 years ago from Andel Models for about £400 it came with the same as R/H speck, charger, working lights, R/C from Timpdon Electronics and the only changes I have had to make is to replace the wheels as the plastic on worn out and changed the colour from green (the same as offered by R/H) to black. been running on the railway regular and never failed. been a very good buy.

I’ve just had a phone call from those nice people at Roundhouse, my two “Merseysiders” are ready for collection. I’m able to drive again this Friday, so next Monday I will be having a trip to Doncaster to pick them up.
I'd like to say "lucky you" but in view of your recent problems I won't! Take it easy on your trip, you'll want to be well to enjoy your purchases

I will indeed Paul. I won't be able to do anything at the CFR for a while, but at least I'll have something to drool over.
