Go with Roundhouse excellent service all round
Lady Anne has been about for a good few years so any problems if any will have been sorted
also sold as a kit which enables you to get to know how the loco is put together and how things work

many thanks to all who replied, very interesting comments and will be making a choice very soon but which one? looking forward to see the new model due out today

My vote goes toward the Roundhouse line, Thier after sales and sevice is second to none. Very important if you are not able to work on your own engines. Accucrafts can be good as well, but keep in mind that most UK style Accu engines are piston valves, where as 99% of the RH line is slide valve cylinders(the USA Forney was piston valve I believe) Piston valves will only wear out with use where as slide valves are always wearing in. Even the RH basic line have slide valve cylinders. It more comes down to what you like and expect. RH come factory with RC or manual thats easily changed to RC. Accucraft you have to do your own RC unless the shop selling the model does the RC conversion. Of all the models I have owned(LGB/Aster Frank S, Accucraft Edrig, Accu Ruby and a kit built by me Lady Anne) The Roundhouse delt with the grades and ran the easiest, even on manual control. The fit and finish of the RH was a level above the Edrig and Ruby. I know others that have had issues getting parts for older Accucraft's to deal with wear in the eccentric system for the valves and needing adjustment as many ran better in reverse over forwards. I am sure either will suit your needs, I just put my vote in to go with a RH model. Mike
