Rockery Ridge Open Day

Had my first summer open day yesterday instead of one on my Birthday in December due to the bad weather each year .
Woke to clear blue sky's and full sun started getting out my stock around mid day and in rolled the clouds and bang on 1 o clock the heavens opened :wits: just as every one arrived but luckerly it was just a pasting shower and we were blested with sunshine for the rest of the afternoon  Would just like to thank every one for attending and bringing along their stock and Doreen for the cakes  was a very enjoyable afternoon
Here's some pic's of the day

I don't see why not my Bachmann K-27 and Mike's Accucraft K-27 go round ok was surprised how easy Hamish's live steam C-19 went round
My K-27 came off on a point yesterday and a large plume of blue smoke came out from under the boiler thought i had burnt out a circuit board :crying: but when i tested the loco after it ran fine must have just caught the power off switch just in time .

Hi all,

Thanks for a nice day out Richie, we both had a great time. I have a few pics, not many though as susan ran off with the camera, also it was Susan who took the photos being bias towards my loco sorry. Also one of a plane (little on) just to prove they were out.

The visiting Loco's were fantastic, but take a bow rich for your hidden gem at the top of the garden its fantastic and the trees look superb.
Your loging conist is just so bang on, i know we have seen pic's before but i think they deserve another showing.

I just have to second (or third????) this. For anyone who wants to see how to build a scenic garden railway in a limited space, look no further than the top loop of Richie's railway. Absolutely spot-on .
