This looks nicely done and really cute... probably not going to bid on it, because the chap won't take Paypal, but quite tempted to pick up a cheap Stainz and do something similar myself!

Anyone here already done something like this? I'm assuming the side tanks are from a cut-down U class, by the look of them?

I too had wondered about doing something like that - the Austrian StLB had a small U-tank look a like 0-6-0t and the Stainz conversion has a touch of that about it. Good spot!

there is some dude in germany that has a great website shop and he sells re-detail kits for Otto...you might
check him out i dont have the link handy but i think i can get it if you want it. the otto stuff he has includes boilers, tanks and even extra driving gear becuz compared to most LGB pufferbellys, Otto's drive gear is nude.


the webstore is totally english friendly (unless, of course, you want to take over).
and they take paypal
 
What an interesting site. I had a similar idea. Only as well as the side tanks I was thinking of adding a bunker and a pony truck to make it an 0-4-2 and run it with a scratch built autocoach. GWR 14xx style.
 
Yup - it was the 'Z' class I had in mind...
Hmmm perhaps another project....

Must start the station building before I buy any more stock though! :)
