Rare boxcar ????????

$433 in additional costs? Must be for a session with a trick cyclist!!

That has been relisted a few times with no takers and no price drop (not counting exchange rate fluctuations). Give it time and some mad fool will probably bite.

So, he doesn't need an evening job at those prices!

Over on O gauge railroading forums someone posted the question of collectible trains the other day. Most of the responses have indicated that in the end, they are a bust. Meaning that when initially issued, these special cars were marketed as collectibles, and in almost every case the cars cannot be given away today at any price.

LGB fell into the same practice as did Lionel. It may have made these two companies money at the time, but for those who purchased the items at the collectible high price, it turned out to be a losing investment.

That seller seems to think all he has is very valuable.
Saw some other items he had, also priced ignorant of the market, imho.
Glad hes not my adviser.
