Does anyone know how cross-compatible the Piko DCC system is with Massoth? Specifically, could a standard blue Massoth Navigator (as opposed to the Massoth-made Piko-branded version) be used as a (tethered) controller with the Piko DCC central station, or are there hardware or firmware/protocol differences that prevent this?
The reason for the question is just a vague idea about a small portable layout, and wondering if one of the small and relatively low-cost Piko stations could be used to run it rather than lugging a 1200Z around - but using one of my existing Navvys (in cable mode, wireless wouldn't be needed) rather than having to buy the overpriced Piko controller too?
Anyone actually tried this?
Thanks in advance,
Jon.
