QSI sound/power card problem

I have fitted a QSI sound and power decoder to my Bachman K27 steam loco. All was well then loco stopped and although sound works loco will not run. My railway is powered by massoth.
Any ideas would be welcome but please keep it simple. I am an electronics dunce! Thanks rogeley

It is possible to "disconnect" the loco, such that the sounds work but the motor is turned off. Check your QSI manual, but I think if you press F9 too many times in succession you put the loco into disconnect mode. I think pressing F6 a couple of times will wake it up again.

Might be worth just checking the plugs between loco and tender as the mother board for the loco is in the tender have found on my K-27 the plugs pull out a bit on tight curves have losted the front light this way and power to the motor pushed the plugs back in tight and all was fine , i also use a QSI sound card but only on DC .

Hi Rogely I hope the problem is now solved.
As a matter of interest where did you get the QSI card?
Is it the latest Code 3017-552, one specifically for the Bachmann K27?
I purchased one last year and had nothing but trouble with it. Despite being reprogrammed it refused to work.
I can't find any retailer in the UK other than the seller I used for the failed one.
None of those quoted on the QSI Site are UK stockists.

Thanks Nick, you could not have kept it simpler. Engine working fine now.
The QSI card is version4.1.1. software V7. 09/07. and was purchased from Dragon Gscale who are always first class for service and advice and until this blip has been working OK. Rogeley

You're welcome. One of those little things that you remember once you've managed to disconnect a loco by accident (so you can guess how I know :) )

Rod's right about Greg's web site - some very useful stuff. I frequently refer to Greg's and George Schreyer's sites.
