Polysyrene Painting

What is good for painting polystyrene with ?
i want some painting black.

Will the plasti-kote paint cans work ? without any surface prep?

Do you mean expanded polystyrene, which I think has the trade name Jablite? If so, spray cans will melt it . Try a base coat of thick emulsion, which you might be able to spray on top of. Is this outdoors use? If indoors, painting Jablite may have consequences in a fire (same problem as painted polystyrene ceiling tiles.

If it is styrene sheet then halfords grey primer followed matt black or satin black. If it is expanded polystyrene then acrylic paint works well - doesn't melt it.
