Plants/trees for garden railroad

Any suggestions for types of hardy/ reasonably priced trees & shrubs for a g scale garden RR in a full SHADE area in Pennsylvania, thanks

You may get by with Cotoneaster, very adaptable to miniature trees. Also Box and Lonicera should work plus true miniature conifers. For ground cover babies tears (sometimes known as mind your own business) will work well in shade. That is me about done for those conditions.

There's a nursery who specialises in planting for garden railways has a stall at the 16mm Association show, obviously in England, but I can't remember their name. Someone on this forum may be able to help with that. They do various guides on planting and what to plant etc

I have a number of "bonsai" native trees, which I will keep in their pots and plant out, trimming each year as I do with my normal bonsai. For example I have 15 years + sycamore and birch less than 12 inches high.

I think that Daniel will have much more luck with that process than I do, his shaded area would be fine for Bonsai providing he follows the rules that I always break like watering and feeding them regularly! To be honest true shade in my own garden is a near illusion.
