Piko PRR 0-6-0 Tender loco

Bought one the other day! I quickly got rid of that cheap looking gold and it looks a lot better, I'm painting the connecting rods at some point.. When I feel brave enough!

I'm looking to add more detail but I'm not sure where, I hope to turn this in to a East Broad Top No.3 one day or something alike.

Only criticism I have is that the wheels look a bit toy like but its passable and that the loco and tender are both so light, that light when running in reverse the tender can derail, but that's probably down to my poor track laying

Yep, getting rid of the gold stuff is essential for these locos, looks way better. Got rid of the gold on mine as well, swapped the green boiler for a black one, and I also added metal wheels to the tender. I also fancy adding some more detail myself, but haven't got into it yet.

The figure that comes with them as well is a bit out of place.. Going to replace him and stick the Bachmann figures in it, Might put a light in the cab.. Is the piko smoke generator any better then the Bachmann ones?

Excellent plans mate. Really like the sound of the cab light. From what I've heard the Piko Smoke Generator seems to be very good. Still have yet to test that feature on my Mogul yet though
