PIKO- is it gauge 1?

Quite a few of us have been pondering the scale PIKO has used for its G products.

Many have the PIKO Railbus which is a Standard Gauge prototype running alongside LGB narrow gauge stock. The two together don't look out of place, and RULE 8 is the norm.

So have a look at this video of the PIKO bus running on Marklin G1 track, with Marklin G1 rolling stock:

What do you think? The bus is slightly too tall, but fits in well enough with the G1 trains, although I realise the buses roof height is much lower than normal DB rolling stock.

Personally, I really like the look of the bus on the Marklin SG trackage....

Of course, LGB make models of SG prototypes too.

Look at this video of the LGB V200 double heading with a PIKO 218 diesel.

The liveries of the locos, along with the DB coaches, just looks spot on to me....

Yes Piko have followed LGB's approach and the seem to be around 1:24-1:26 which is a lot bigger than 1:32 so they look too big to me alongside gauge 1 but they do look good running alongside their own range and lgb. Bit like OO being mixed with HO it looks odd ;)
