Ok i know this is going over old ground, but just to let you know of a QC problem i had with a set of these points i bought.
Firstly i bought two of these, having looked at the frist one in the shop i bought two a Land R handed version..
Upon opening the other box when i got home i noticed a wobble on one of the blades, so i opened it up expecting to find a loose screw, so an easy fix.
However what i was confronted with was something else. The screw was in itself too long for the job, and in the process of fitting the Torx head was stipped.
At this point i contacted the supplier, to advise them of this problem with a view of then checking if they had any other duds for the want of a better way to say it.
Should say that the supplier was quite happy for me to return it, and would check their stock just in case, but i was happy to fix it myself.
Easier option than the return postage or the 200 mile round trip to the shop, personal choice BTW.
Anyhow after cutting a slot in the screw head and trimming a washer to fit, problem solved......
allmost....
Another glitch which only surfaced when i tried it under power was an electrically dead rail.
Not a problem with DCC and jumper wires but one i wanted to sort out, fearing a melted wire syndrome, it turned out to nothing more than a metal bridging strip not making contact with the rail.
So after unscrewing the offending rail to access the strip, then tweeking to fit.
sorted..
Looks like i got a Monday morning/Friday evening assembled one..
Now for those who want to gripe about Piko is not as good as LGB, for balance i should point
out that ome of my new LGB coaches was a dud as well, as the lighting circuit blew up when i put it on the track.
