From Tony's RCS site......will set it going again tomorrow and see if flasher stops....seems a long time to charge that made me worry a bit......,Mal R.

Given that the battery only had the usual factory surface charge and it charges at 200ma, it should have taken about 12 - 13 hours to fully charge. It was likely less but will take more charge as it is used. Usually takes 3 or 4 charges to get maximum charge into it.
The lighting sequence of the charger sounds about right to me. I could not tell anyway as I am Red/Green colour blind.

The charger is mains powered wall wart Fy1261000 made by Fuyuang. I have just started selling them in 3s and 4s.
They come without any instructions from my supplier, Master Instruments.
They are inexpensive compared to a proper multi chemistry smart charger.

Need to pick a few brains.........A Grandee gave me a damaged rc car and I refitted the Rx pcb in a Piko BC80 powered loco with 9.6V battery feeding thru' 4 x 004 diodes and it drives steadily scale wise with 4 wagons (the first with the rc gear) and 2 Leds alight. However , with with the original Tx (cheapy) is restricted to stop and go.....is it possible to come up with some sort of speed control ??????? Thanks .........
Unlikely, I'm afraid. Even if you could find out the rc protocol used by system, the rx would probably not respond proportionally to the tx signal.
The only solution I can think of is to build a Picaxe speed control system such as that used by
gregh
on this forum which could (possibly) respond to signals from the tx by stepping up and down the pwm 'voltage' to the motor. See Radio control-Sandstone & Termite RailwayOther than that, find a cheap rc car with speed control and strip out the guts from that.

Thanks Rik...have printed out Gregh's pages and been trying to get my head around them..........Had a lot of success with Gregh's PWM controller, both my OO's and cable car run on them after numerous failings with propriety controllers. I think I have built about 8 of them but have not got around to up grading one for the G's. MardyUnlikely, I'm afraid.
