Phil's Lawn Meeting

Running a bit late on this but two Sundays ago ( 10th March ) Phil Smith hosted the Wellington Garden Railway Group for a lawn meeting as the Group's monthly running afternoon. It's amazing what fun you can have with some borrowed track and a levelish back lawn

Two ovals of track and enough room for several trains running at any one time. (And warm sun )

The boys are having fun.

I got to the running day a bit late, so I missed much of the action but I was there in time for, well I'm not quite sure what I was in time for

I know it's Sunday but personally I'm happier praying at Church in the morning :timeout:

I know LGB is good but

Oh your looking for a part you thought you'd dropped Chris, but that Gavin found still attached to the model, hmm yes okay, we believe you :bleh:

Well as long as you were there in time for cake and trains what else matters? It's nice to see a few buildings added to an inpromptu set up too

Ah, saga of the missing part. Phil has a Baggage car that carries batteries and R/C gear that Chris fitted out for him. Seems they wanted to adjust something, so the car was partially disassembled, like you do. Come reassembly time, Chris could only find 3 of the doors (of the sliding variety), now Phil's deck has some air gaps in it... naturally, one and all assume that's where to look for the door. Meantime, since I've got one of those same cars, I picked up the body to see how it all comes apart (and hopefully goes back together). Hello, what's that shiny plastic bit up against the side wall? Indeed, it was the window to the now not missing door, with door attached, and sliding perfectly in its runner. The smile on Wayne's face.... he was lost for words, for a few minutes at least, while we didn't interupt the search for the door (that would have been 'poor form').
