Too much of a good thing is nearly enough.

After years of operation with temporary track in the concrete back yard of my terraced house, permission has been recieved to run at my parents. Still not permanant but a great improvement. It also means the main lines can use R5s throughout. The Mallet really looks superb on the sweeping curves
and much more realisitic.

Apart from the usual spelling mistyke, I cant get the photo to come up full size, just a small thumbnail appears as above...so before any more get added can a kind soul tell this non-computer user how to do it...Im completely baffled!

Instructions recieved...thanks Neil.
Post corrected, so ignore this bit of waffle!

The other benefit of all the extra space is that triple headed locos can be used for the first time on my own railway. Dash9s are impressive on their own, but three in multiple are superb.
Personal opinion of course.

An overview of the running lines and the tram depot. A small fleet of trams are operated and a fleet livery is to be applied shortly.

A few of the LGB tram locos are avialble to supllement the trams, but at present I havent got any stock for them to haul...so at present they have to make do with a 'borrowed' coach.

Thanks for the kind comments Fred.
One of the tram locos arrives at the depot. Once I had got the speeds sorted, it was possible to have three trams on one circuit without it looking silly.

This photo was taken on the first day, before the flowers were removed from the lawn.

The recent aquisition of a Pennsy Rogers from Ade ( Delivery Of Oblivion ) with a matching rake of LGB coaches gathered individually from many sources.

Nice pix Syd....

Loads of space . go to town

I just realised that I havent actually posted any photos of the 'Old Line', so only I know what an improvement operations now have. My enclosed yard allowed R3 curves and the smaller locos looked fine...like this 66.

Larger trains didnt lool quite as gracefull as this train hauled by an F set demonstrates.

The really large stuff just had to be watched on the straight sections, this Challenger got round OK with its articulation but looked very odd. The slightly larger Big Boy however was reserved for visits to other railways.

The temporary nature of the trackwork ( it wasnt left out overnight ) did however mean that sidings would spring up where none existed the previous day.

One last shot of the old order, the 'main line' was a simple loop which had to squeeze behind a shed. The gap wasnt good luck...the original shed was replaced with a smaller one to enable to line to be laid.

One of the problems of running away from home is transporting the stock to and fro. So the last couple of days have been spent erecting four 18 feet long shelves along a garage wall. That should be able to accommadate enough stock for a weekends running now.

The next job is to get some covers for them, so I dont have to spend hours dusting before getting the trains running. Cheap tea towels in the sales now running seem an ideal solution.
