Thanks for the kind words folks. It started as a project to find a use for a dummy LCE block around which the first coach was built made with scraps of salvaged wood. I did buy a sheet of plasticard to do the roof, even had the paint laying around.
One obviously needs a companion and rusting in the garden was a chassis from a little critter somewhat similar to the LCE block . A couple of mouldings from B & Q and this one was away this time with the coachwork made from the rest of the plasticard. A brake coach would make a fine finish to the set I thought but had run out of wheel sets so I cannibalised the tender of the rusting ornamental big hauler and with a length of alloy angle from B & Q was away. The roof ventilators are shelf studs, the grab rails and handles made from steel rod and the vacuum brake pipes made from insulation stripped from electric cable with a piece of wire through them to bend into shape.
