What types of paint have people used on Newquida tankers, have 3 to repaint for my Fire train

I used Halfords plastic primer then a car paint rattle can top coat. If you want to mix your own colour and airbrush it then the Tamiya acrylic paints stick to the Halfords primer really well.

Same method I use, a rub down with some wet and dry about 1000 so that all the old transfers are flush with the body and not raised and then half ore primer and then topcoat.

Don't under estimate the importantance of rubbing down the transfers as you will curse when you can see them through the paint

Have had no problems painting LGB stuff, just never painted any of the cheep newquida stuff, just wondered if anyone had any issues with it, as it's a very cheep grade of plastic they used

I use a Glass Fibre Brush to remove the Transfers/Lettering then a clean up with very fine Wet n Dry. After that I use Halfords Rattle Can Undercoat then whatever Colour of theirs that I choose for Main Colours. Though I just leave my Harz Wagons in Matt Brown or Grey with Matt Black for Chassis. Picking out any Body Ironwork with Acrylic Matt Black.

I pretty much do the same as Jon. Remove transfers, clean up with fine wet n dry, then Halfords rattle cans for primer and top coats.

Much the same as Jon and Gareth, although I used Humbrol rattle cans....

I used halfords cans, when I did the custom stainz fleet. It was just feedback on whether anyone had issues with the newquida stock when painted, did the paint stick ok? etc

No problems with NQ stock on using Halfords Undercoat Cans.

Here's two coaches. One was a slightly changed (end platforms etc) but simple repaint, and the other a bit bashed to produce a brake compo. Both just washed in washing up liquid and then brush painted using Phoenix GW chocolate and cream. Thin gold pinstripe tape, decals from Stan Cedarleaf, then a coat of J&J floor polish!

Wow! They look amazing! So you just hand painted these with no under coat?

Exactly as suggested by dunnyrail. Strip the coaches down completely removing roofs, glazing and seats.
One thing
I learned on here, if you wish to have two tone or stripes don't expect masking tape to give you a clean line, I found that not even Tamiya tape could be relied upon for that.
The solution is to spray the body colour then mask with tape after that respray the edges of the tape with the body colour. Allow to dry then apply your second colour. Remove the tape before the paint is fully dry and you will have a perfect line with no bleeding of the second colour.
Simple and it works.

Finally finished a project!
A full repaint of a Newqida G Scale Petrol Tanker, turning it into a milk tanker. Started off by removing the ladders and gantry, them a full respray into Gloss Cream/White, with black branding. Very pleased with how it has turned out, though the lighting does not do it justice.
Here's an image before and after
Let me know what you think ;)

A great improvement. How have you fixed lettering - it looks as though it is of the raised type (judging by the shadows) or is it vinyls just lifting a bit?

Re lettering I found at a Model Shop in Feltham various sizes of Vynil Lettering. Was told by Shop Owner that supplier would do in different colours or fonts. Might be worth a look in your local Plane, Boat, Car Model Shop.

The text is some sticky back letters from a local hobby store. They appear to be made from Card and do have a bit of height too them. Though I would give them ago, and very pleased with the results. Looks very much like cut letter that were applied to some wagons with branding ;)
