.......... are releasing a kit of Chama coaling stage in mid January, available in either 1:24 or 1:20.3. The 1:24 model is 31" tall and both can be had in all red cedar or a mix of red cedar and ply if it's not left out. I tried to order it but the site couldn't calculate the postage. Interesting kit but it is the best part of $300 + shipping + the cowboys waiting at this end. On reflection I will probably give it a miss, but......!!

a. I don't have a coaling plant of any kind.

b. It's only a matter of giving Mr Blackstone he requisite mount of money.

PS - I have an Accucraft K27 with radio and sound....'snot for sale, and it's the wrong scale, too

Very nice Mick, is that a Bachmann O gauge?

Hi Kim. No, but it's a scaled up version I made last year because the original disintegrated.

I don't have a place for a coaling tower. The RGS uses a completely different design. But the water tank is on my shopping list.

Feeling utterly hacked off with Ozark Miniatures. I contacted them immediately, using the bit labeled "CONTACT" on their website homepage, after this thread was posted to get a quote. I included required scale, material and destination and told them I was used to the costs/conventions of importing from US to UK. Got no reply. Recontacted again first week Jan, with all the details and copy of the original e-mail. They replied and said they had problems with spammers and had lost my original e-mail. They also asked me to state my requirements - even though they were copied back at the foot their communication from my own e-mail ! So I, politely reply - again with all the info and ask also for an option for the smaller scale version (well they did ask ;)). Again no reply, Wait a couple of weeks (end January), resend, again no reply. So I resend all the details again, which has copied in previous communications, to the only apparent contact point - you know the one at the start that is labeled with a big green button on the top of the home page stating "CONTACT" and takes you to a purpose made form to fill in and send.

So today I get this blunt and brief communication back this afternoon - "The tipples are not available at this time. Our contact info is on the main page as this box has been overrun with spam" Nothing else. WTF !

At no time have they ever mentioned I have to use different e-mail contact details, contained on an nondescript part of the home page headed News". Not so much as a sorry or "we will advise you when they come into stock again" So I loose out on getting something I've been after for a while (there was another company offering a similar product in the past but gave up after a similar litany of unanswered correspondence ) due to their own inattentiveness and inability to communicate or manage communications.

This seems to be a common problem with some niche suppliers in a niche hobby. If you are going to make tempting desirable and costly stuff try to at east be a bit professional about it. Otherwise don't do it, you are doing a disservice to the hobby, never mind yourselves. OK, rant over, got it off my chest :mad::banghead::banghead::swear::swear:o_Oo_O:envy::envy::devil:

Well they haven't done themselves any favours, have they? Looks like they've lost at least one sale.

I did get an email from them, but when I responded with my address and asking how to pay, I got nothing.

I mean, I can sympathise with the spam problem, but as a business they need to be prepared to deal with it.

That's two customers down........................:(:(:(:(
