I went to an open day in Sussex today held by a G Scale Society (Sussex) member who is not on this forum and does not use the web much.
A very interesting railway right on the coast.
Thats a model lighthouse - about 15 inches tall. The beach is about 25ft lower than the garden but that doesn't show in the pictures above.
A large garden with multiple tracks around the edges.
A fantastic location for a railway, but what is his track made of? The amount of salt & spray in the air during bad weather must surely pose some problems. I would be intrigued to know the problems of running in a seaside location. Who knows? I may retire to a similar place myself. ( some chance )
.....looks as though Glyn has made some extensions since I last visited
If I remember correctly the track is all Peco. The railway is live steam or battery only - no track power!! First visited the railway at least 5 years ago and none of the track seems to have suffered as a result of being so close to the sea.......
