Once there was a Garden Railway

Sorry that you've had to give up, Roly; are you able to stay in the model railway hobby in general, maybe the indoor side? If not, hope you find something else to occupy you - hobbies are vitally important to us all!

All the best for the future,

Jon.

sorry roly..try a indoor, raised up one.. gont give up matey

Crikey Roly I had no idea that you were having to pack it in. Really sorry to hear that. As Mike suggests maybe a nice little indoor raised layout could be just the tonic.

It's a sad sight on what must have been a sad day, my commiserations to you .

I'm very sorry to read your news, Roly, especially as we met up again this summer when you were buying extra track. Enjoy your OO layout though, and remember size needn't matter!

Hi Roly
We have already spoken about your sad denuding of the garden.
You had made a really well sorted railway.
The layout lives on in video and also some of your locos/rollingstock will have life again on at the Beaver Creek RR.

I've always liked disused railways. Having grown up near a disused line. (S&D). They appeal to me as much as living ones. I particularly like it when the imprint of the sleepers are still present. Allows the imagination to run over what it could of looked like.

Sad that you've lifted your line, but garden railways are about the garden as much as the track. So enjoy you garden, good for the mind and body.

Nature closes in fast.
The stones stand with tales to tell.

Your second lot of photos almost brought tears to my eyes, I never want this to happen to me, but it will one day.
Now, however, the nasty bit, the vultures are hovering around. Any shortish bits of track for disposal? I am looking for any old bits for platform/siding ends, doesn't matter what make, anything will fit in. Will pay what you want and inc P&P. Maybe you will want to dispose of the track in a oner though

It is sad that you've given up in the garden after all the work you've done. Even for an analogue 'stick in the mud' like me, I envied what you've accomplished - it gave me food for thought I'll tell you!
