I thought it was solder paste lead free, but when it arrived its just flux for which I paid $30..... It sure reads as if its solder paste but if you look very closeley at the picture it does say flux on the jar.....
They are not happy because I took what was stated in the written part of the advert for the truth. I will however point out that this is flux only in my negative feedback.....
 
I would report that one it is very misleading. OK, the item listing is one of those annoying but understandable catch-all types designed to get the maximum number of hits but the net effect is to mislead as the "catch-all" mostly continues into the main page listing.
Reminds me of the time I saw a promotional sign in my local branch of Tesco a few years back and was caught out by it -

[style="background-color: #ffff00;"] HALF ​
[style="background-color: #ffff00;"] PRICE ​
Note the differing font sizes used, oldest trick in the book. Now, I gave my local trading standards office a call to tell them about that. Next day all the signs had gone and I have never seen a price promotion in Tesco couched like that again. Sure you get plenty of "Buy one get one half price" offers but all parts of the offer get equal prominence. I think that a lot of people must have complained for that to happen, not just me. Caveat Emptor !​

The title is vague and misleading. It's a bit like those who put 'Not LGB' in the title so it comes up when people search for LGB.

Going off at a slight tangent..... I've just ordered a pack of 10 x £45 fence panels from a company in Reading who offer free delivery across the UK mainland on this pack.... when I keyed in my Shrewsbury area postcode I was referred to their telephone contact.... it cost me a further £30 as SY23 codes are not counted as mainland UK. I have to say their prices are around 25% cheaper than anywhere local, but I still feel miffed by the misleading promotion.

Totally agree with you both, trouble is, as I previously mentioned, the same panels are at between £10 & £20 each dearer around here even after the extra delivery charge is added... so I won't be cancelling..... but I might be complaining to their T/S office for the benefit of other off-shore mainlanders :impatient:

Amazing news.... the delivery estimate was 7 - 10 working days... I've just had an email from Hartlebury, Worcs saying they are ready for delivery!!!!! and thinking it might have been better to have dealt directly with the manufacturer, checked their price.... £69.99 = £25 each dearer - A topsy, turvy world isn't it :clap:

Looking at the webpage I don't think it was described incorrectly as such, the description and photo both say "flux paste", the title is just written in Chinglish with the "for" missed out and sound read as "flux paste for lead free solder". If you are used to dealer with the Chinese you get used to wording like this as they do not have a word for "for" in Chinese.

Mel, try.... www.fencestore.co.uk and then argue the delivery if they think you are an offshore customer.

Well this has worked out for the best. I sent them negative feedback and said that they should clearly state this item is flux only..... If I look at their items the solder paste and the flux are described identical except that they do give a percentage of the alloy for the solder. Ok yes it may be a language thing, lost in translation. HOWEVER if they are selling to another country then at least get somone to do a translation for them like this seller who is as chinese as well the terra cotta soldiers... but he got it right;

The flux seller has offered to give me a refundl if I withdraw my negative comment, I have agreed if he states that this item is "FLUX ONLY"
