Ever have one of those days when you click on a link, see a picture and just know, dang it all, I'm going to have to model that...

Update, moving along, base paint finished, still need to add finish varnish coat, need some seated figures for the inside.

Chief Inspector Homer spots something on the test track

Me too... nice piece of work as ever, Vic. It'd make a good pay car for the harbour layout.

Just shows what can be done from a 'Toy' starting point. Nice job you have created a Model of a Train,

Neat bit of work is that.
Nice to see they have a spare wheel with them! :)

Wheel I'm blowed! So they have.. ;)

Nice conversion.. Wish I had the 'vision' to see where I could do this sort of thing..

Sorry for the lack of progress pic, but of late I'm more interested in building than documenting. Both are Lil Big Haulers, the drive is a LBH loco, and the shell from a passenger car, the floor is sheet basswood, glued into the base of the shell, then using wood mounting blocks its screwed to the loco. The bunker is a old Lionel LS with styrene, the pilot something I found in the bin, front windows are Piko, boiler is a plumbing tee, seats are plastic or basswood, I have added a few Bachmann figures inside and Homer will stay on the pilot for now. Next is to shoot the whole thing with a matte coat to unify the finishes, then work to add light weathering. One snag I have run into is I have misplaced the headlight reflector and the light bulb/lead, can't really finish this till I relocate them.

Hi Vic
you are driving me nuts with all these great ideas of yours I wish I lived on the other side of the pond ,your locos over there are so quirky I wish we had some thing similar over here in the early days of steam .the backman lil I have noticed is starting to creep up in price it must be because backman knows they are a good starting point for kit bashing .

I wish that I was back in the cellar and not in Frankfurt, as I have an idea with a coach that I´d like to get done using your pic as a prototype :o

ooooooooooooooo,Riograndad thinking, mmmm, riograndad thinks next project maybe? ;),,,,,,,whens next days off! LOVE IT

I am find quite the opposite here, they have not sold well and are now showing up on Ebay for blow out prices, I've seen loco's sell for less than $30. I bought two starter sets for less than $80 each. I dig these things but I'm convinced Bachmann will not produce them any longer. They were not in the 2014 catalog. I just bought two red coaches for ?future? just in case.

Another great metamorphism and addition to your roster. It's an interesting prototype too (always find steam - or IC - passenger rail motors fascinating) - is it a Baldwin?

I have no idea, probably a home made shop bash, it appears to be a 2-2-2 teakettle of some sort.
