Well linked. Only thing that interests me is the cover diesel a 10c, these fit in with my scheme very well. I even saw one at Gernrode on my first visit in 1981 so fits my chosen epoch well, except I need it in blue, so may have to wait a while or repaint. This will sent you straight there.

Wallet spanking time

As a reasonably recent conversion to G [and from down under] I now wonder if either of these manufacturers have ever considered any UK prototypes [apart from Thomas and his ilk]? I would have thought the market would have been reasonable but not sure. [Hope this thread drift is not too severe.]

Funnily enough there is just one in the LGB range, a similar loco to the one above called Cambrai was produced as a relivery of the Corpet. Cambrai is preserved in uk, near me at Irchester now but was at Towyn for a very long time. So another one to add this year, so glad I stopped collecting Corpets at 5, think I am 2 missing including this years.

I you realise the two manufacturers are German / European, that the UK is a piddlin' small island, that was not part of E-U-rope for years..
'We Brits' are a tiny market.. Hence LGB concentrate on Europe and American outline models..

As 'we' invented railways, 'we' get a little 'anal' about things like 'scale', 'rivets', 'liveries', and 'upper versus lower quadrant signalling'.. ;):giggle:

There are plenty of UK outline models in gauges O and 1, then there are all the various narrow gauge offerings..

If you really want to make an impression, then have a hunt for 'UK outline gauge 3'. But be sitting down, when you get to the prices!

Nor forgetting the varying 2ft Gauge kit for FR, LnB and others much of which is available to run on Gauge 1 track, but that is diversion from LGB. However thread drift here is an phenomena not.

Ooops I was wrong about Piko, there is a new mould 0-8-0 Diesel Shunter and 6 wheel coach for 2020. Must look more careful next year,

If you are new to this game you may be perplexed by some of the answers which refer to gauge 0 gauge 1, gauge 3 and 16mm. These are shorthand for a range of track gauges and scales which come under the garden railway umbrella but may not be g-scale as you understand it. This bamboozled me for at least my first year. If you need explanations let us know but please ask in another thread.

But as many conversation in the past has g-scale in not a scale but a gauge (45mm) with a range of scales (1:29 - 1:19) running on it though purist will say it is 1:22.5, but with a rubber ruler :)

Thanks guys, appreciate your advice. I think I have a handle on most of it but there is always one or two 'interesting' scales that pop up occasionally. I tend to stick to LGB narrow gauge products but have a few locally moulded cars that seem to fit in with the locos I have. 20190208_171736.jpg

That is mostly due to the fact that 16mm 2ft Gauge models are pretty close to the same Height and width of our mostly metre Gauge models. 16mm scale 32mm Gauge guys happily use Re-Gauged LGB and now other manufacturers wagons and coaches for their lines.

Well Mike, we didn't have to wait long for Ge6/6 II in green livery! How quickly I'm parted from my money! Already on preorder!

Yes a friend of mine in Somerset UK jumped for a Red one in the last month or two, bet he is regretting that as well as his prefered RHB Colour is Green. He is always on the lookout for another Green GE 4/4 II, at a sensible price of course.
