That look brilliant Shawn

Thanks guys. I forget to add a shot of the underside. The brown cover holds all the wire connections. I also hope to put battery power into here as well. I also did the gears on the bottom just to add to the details a little more.

Love it Shawn, great job. It looks wonderfully .......... errrrrr ........... rustic .

We like rustic around Bromyard. She's a very pretty lokie. Do you think she'd go to a shed dance at New Year? :admire:

A great little quirky loco Shawn and a job well done

Now that I completed my Climax I decided to start working on Battery power for the Climax. I wanted something that would allow me to go both ways, use track power but also have the option to go battery power. I also wanted something simple. Put the train down and lwet it go. Battery power and wiring is new to me so I had to learn as much as a could to make this work. Because of lack of space in the engine I needed a battery car. I wanted something that would go with my log cars that I am in the process of building. I decided to go with a flat car with logs as a load. I wired the Climax with a switch to go from track to battery power. Then the battery car has a Li-ion 4 cell pack attached to the bottom of the flat. To control the speed I added a simple critter control http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/DelTapparo/Simple_Critter.htm
I also added a switch for the charging jack.

Scratch built flat car. Critter control and switch on top.

Battery hidden under the flat car. Large plug is charging plug and will be tucked under out of site.

Completed battery car other then a few details still need to be added. The red can hides the switch for the charging jack. The wood with the axe in it is the knob to control the speed.

I was able to get the correct side rods for the Climax. I got them from Ozarks. I only had to do modify them slightly. It looks much better. I also got one log car complete and the other two just needs detailed parts (I have to order more) I allso got the Big John wired up so I can now run that battery/track power. Been testing the battery out. So far im on two hours at full throttle pushing the plow.

I also added a roof over the pporch on the general store. Now Ken and Ric can play checkers and not get wet.
