Depends what you mean by "compatible with MTS"?

NCE make excellent NMRA DCC systems, I use an NCE 10 amp system with my G scale stuff.

However, I think the NCE G-Wire throttle is something more along the lines of the Aristo Revolution type of control system, with a wireless receiver in each loco? I'm not sure if the G-Wire radio frequency is legal in the UK, but I know very little about R/C. I do know that the standard NCE wireless option for their DCC systems isn't UK-legal (a shame).
 
It is designed to work with the Airwire and QSI Gwire system, at the 900mhz frequency- not legal in the UK. I don't think it would work with a MTS base station.

Yeah, I could only find reference to 900MHz.

That's right, it definitely won't work with MTS in terms of trying to use an NCE throttle with an MTS base station (or with any other brand of DCC system for that matter). The communication protocols and cab bus are totally different.

I had spotted this particular ebay item. I'm not interested in G-Wire but it would make a handy second wired throttle for my system if it were cheap enough!

The link to Tony's trains website provides only broad headlines- eg

so while it doesn't actually mislead, it requires considerable reading between the lines.
