Narrow Gauge At Work

Go on, share then ...........

I think you forgot the link

reminds me of the old Kilroy-Silk programme

To share or to shaft

I hadn't forgotten it, the system dropped it for some reason, I've had to post it twice to get it on at all.

I'll add this one too, I think we'll call it "Ode to a Pantograph" or perhaps "Oh for a Pantograph".:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I thought you were going to show the picture of the Thameslink train at Blackfriars where the driver had forgotten to lower the pantograph.

There is now a large sign board at Farringdon station reminding drivers to drop the pantograph :think::think:

Now that would be a chalange in G Scale to get the Guy with the Magic Wand to work. Possibly a RC Arm?

Yeah it clipped the front off the pantograph one as well . I've been in and out of 'edit' all morning. Something's adrift.

As for the H & S stuff in the first vid, been there, done that, and I still have all my parts...

Excellent videos. Plenty of ideas for kit bashing, weathering and scratch building. Looks like they have done some themselves.
Liked the low tech packing to the axle box and the big timber to move the wagon on the adjacent line. Most enjoyable.

A bit dodgy but plenty of precedents (earthing trams with a spike, Hooking jumper cables over overhead wires for shunting trolleybuses or trams). Just the height of the overhead in this case - oh, and the controller out of its casing. All very risky situations.

I liked the green diesel, was it a version of a mk48 or something separate. To me it looked like a bogie version of the the original playmobil red diesel around the cab?

I also liked the home made coach using the body off an old soviet army truck.

I loved these videos. The first one, of the lumber line, seems to ring the maximum utilisation out of totally clapped out and decripid stock and track work. You just have to wonder how long they can keep going like that. Judging from the apparent size of the forest, they have a long way to go yet. By the same token, beautifully shot and wonderfully atmospheric.

The video of the coal mine just defies belief. Surely they must be convict labour or totally suicidal to work like that.

The voltage is probably surprisingly low - like bumper car poles.

If that is still current practice, its re-volting, if they cop a few amps they may not be going ohm.

The sparks could also ingite any gas pockets. 'Tis a triffle crude to say the least. The state of the P/way left a tad to be desired as well.

So nobody noticed the divot of a driver taking off his hard hat to scratch his head while holding the magic wand in the other hand? PUFF, Cinderella shall go to the ball

"It's the volts that jolts, but the current that kills!"

Does not need to be a high voltage if there is enough 'push' (current) to do the job.. - Think a welding set.. Not a great voltage, but lots of Amps!

Re Firedamp..
I would guess (hope) they do not use this method underground..??
