My Lgb Sumpter Valley Mallet With Massoth Pulsed Smoke Generator

Excellent. the best one I have seen. Lots of smoke AND a distinct chuff.

What are you using for smoke fluid? I have a pulsed smoker in my Euro Mallet, but it doesn't make smoke that thick.

Nice !! How long will the smoke fluid last on a single filling ?

Oh yes, love it,mine fitted with standard LGB unit for smoke and factory sound,no comparison'excellent smoke volume:envy::envy::envy::envy::envy::envy:

Hi Mark
What decoder are you using?
I have a Sumpter mallet DCC with LGB sound and I have a Massoth 5v pulsed smoke unit in my spares draw.
Any tips on positioning the unit, installing, hooking up etc?

I suspect the use of a 5V pulsed unit with DCC is an odd combination.
I have recently successfully fitted one of the latest version Massoth 5v units to my analogue LGB/Aster Garratt with factory sound so there must be some degree of compatibility. However if the loco was chipped I'd have used the higher voltage digital smoke unit.

Superb. Have considered one of these for a while. Most of my questions have been asked by others. But, how do you fill it without getting fluid in the Loco Body after possible Overfills please?

I see your point Neil....but what about the 5v output from the decoder?

I'm unsure of the detail but in principle to get the same heat into the element at 5V compared to, say, 20V you'd need four times the current. Especially on a high output smoke unit this could exceed a decoder's function output rating.
