Re:My LGB Bashes! and Re-paints

I do seem to recognise the origins of some of the stock and really like the way that consistent modelling and painting has produced a well matched and complimentary set of stock.
Is loco No.3 a Stainz converted to a Forney?

Re:My LGB Bashes! and Re-paints

Very smart

Re:My LGB Bashes! and Re-paints

Fantastic work very nice paint work  Do like Alamosa coach:bigsmile:

Re:My LGB Bashes! and Re-paints

I would never have thought "Euro" coaches would look good as "Rio Grande" coaches but I quite like them.

Nice.

Re:My LGB Bashes! and Re-paints

Love the number you have done on the track cleaner and the MOW cars.
Max.

Re:My LGB Bashes! and Re-paints

Great stuff! It takes courage to take a spray gun to some of the more expensive pieces. Looking good.

Super work all round, like the track cleaner particularly, and the enclosed ends to the coaches :thumbup::thumbup:

Re:My LGB Bashes! and Re-paints

Tony could you please elaborate on what you did to make the 2017 (stainz) into a Forney-
specifically, the bunker-is it a stock Forney bunker/and the cab? and the pilot with cut bar?-and how did you add the trailing truck-?
I really like it because it is so compact
any issues around R1s?

if that is a Forney cab and bunker (which I just so happen to have in the parts bin) could you show how it meets with the boiler-and what you did to not have a gap between the cab cutout and the smaller boiler?

Re:My LGB Bashes! and Re-paints

Very nice work (and some brave decisions made) - they all look great. What intrigues me the most is the transfers. Any information on supplier/cost of, etc?

Re:My LGB Bashes! and Re-paints

They look great, one would not pick them as LGB....

Hi Steve,
You are spot on, it is a stock Forney cab and bunker. Its not quite finished as there is still the gap
between the cab cutout and the smaller boiler!! (and no coal in it).
The stainz is fixed to half an mogul tender chassis.
The trailing bogie was a bit of a problem, it wouldn't work on the pivot, so i cheated and cut a slot!. Only a railway expert would notice, the rest of the world wouldn't. It goes around R1 no prob. It also has a massoth LS & power buffer.
Hope this helps
Tony...

Re:My LGB Bashes! and Re-paints

 fantastic, love the track cleaning loco conversion..

Re:My LGB Bashes! and Re-paints

Thanks Tony - I've bookmarked it:thumbup: (Thinking of repainting a couple of locos).

Nice solution for the Forney - and, not being an LGB man, I'd never have guessed its origins!
