More testing times on the WGLR

Mark and Neil came over for their first visits to the WGLR today. Unfortunately Gareth couldn't make it due to car issues, ironic really as Mark's front brakes went just as he got to Bewdley - this was a bit of an issue as anybody who's been down the hill to our house will know!!!!! So, first job was a ride into town for new pads followed by a lightening quick pit-stop. 20 minutes to change the pads, not bad eh? All down to the fact that we were panting to start running trains ......... that and the fact that Fiat Punto front brake calipers are really well designed .

So soon trains were running including Neil's Accucraft Caledonia (ran worryingly well and as got me re-considering a Countess/Earl) and Mark's lovely self built tram with a nice train of L&B wagons.

Then it was time for the big guns - Neil's gorgeous Garrett. Ran round like a dream, only requiring a slight tweek to one fence as far as clearances were concerned.

Eat your hear out Welsh Highland .

Ooooh, woooow!

I'd never have thought such a monster machine would look so good on a small railway, but it does....

The Garret would be well worth the wait Mel it looks and sounds great on your line

Spot on Gizzy! I think that I could even sacrifice a Mallet for one of those. What a machine!
