ModelTown steam wagon motorised

After posting my last video (the time lapse of Beeston Market station), someone asked if the steam lorry in it was motorised. At the time, I said, "No." - but now the answer would be "Yes - and radio controlled". It's not a very sophisticated conversion, and it could be done more cheaply with a cheapo r/c system - but I just made use of the bits and pieces I had to hand at the time. I'll post a blog entry about it eventually, but for now - here's a video:

Very interesting Rik, will it have Timetabled runs to bring Goods for the Freights in your Timetable?

Greg has suggested I should program a Picaxe to control it to come 'on stage, do a three-point turn, wait and then depart - so there's no reason why I couldn't get that to coincide with freight movements ..........

Phase 2?

Brill blog re the construction, so simple yet does the job. Would have posted on your Blog, but I always fail the Robot Test!

Brilliant idea and execution. The r/c kit could be covered with a dummy load consisting of the tops of boxes, sacks etc.

Would be rather nice with Sound as well. Oh dear have I made some more hard work for the Grey Matter?
